Tornado (twister)

A tornado is a column of very strong wind which springs from a powerful stormy cloud. These winds can reach velocities of 450 km per hour, destroying everything along dozens of kilometers.

Tornados appear in every continent, with the exception of Antarctica. However, they are more frecuent in North America, in a region called "Tornado Alley"

When a tornado "touchs" the ground, a finger of destruction starts to sweep everything. Here you can see some images of real destruction produced by this natural phenomenon:

In Spain tornadoes are very infrequent. However, if you see a dark stormy cloud wich starts to develop a blue finger towards the ground... look for a safe refuge!!!
